The ethylene glycol is a kind of important organic chemical raw materials and its market has been developed quickly in recent years.Especially with the capacity rise of ethylene glycol from biological substance or coal,finding a new method and technological process to improve product quality has become a pressing need in the industry.In the current situation,Yanshan petrochemical company must further improve the quality of ethylene glycol products to enhance product competitiveness.This paper studied the alumina supported Ni catalyst and ethylene glycol hydrofining reaction performance,which showed that the prepared catalyst possessed high metal content,high H2 chemisorption capacity and high activity.The results of 200 hours laboratory evaluation showed that the catalyst was stable and had the potential for industrial application.In addition,for the expansion of refining catalyst varieties,the present work studied the performance of Ni catalyst supported on activated carbon and its hydrogenation reaction.The results showed that the catalyst possessed rich pore structure,large specific surface area,high hydrogen chemisorption capacity and high activity in the hydrogenation refining reaction.The results of 500 hours of laboratory evaluation showed that the catalyst was stable and had the potential for industrial application.The hydrogenation refining reaction was carried out under different conditions by using ethylene glycol material of different fractions.The UV transmittance of ethylene glycol could be improved significantly after the hydrogenation reaction.The suitable conditions of hydrogenation reaction are as follows:pressure 0.2?1.0MPa,temperature 85?105?,space velocity 1.0?8.0h-1.Finally,the influence factors of UV value for Yanshan ethylene glycol unit were analyzed systematically from the factory practice and chemical theory,finding that solving the impurity in the device containing ketone material is the essential problem.Furthermore,detailed application scheme using hydrogenation technology in Yanshan ethylene glycol unit was supported,which can effectively solve the problems of the existing device and is an important reference for the same industry.
