Eucommia Ulmoides Gum(EUG) is a kind of nature polymer resource ,which is abundant in China. EUG and NR are isomers, but the regular structure makes EUG a crystalline plastic at room temperature,which limits the application of EUG. The vulcanization method can turn EUG into elastomer, but this method requires special mixing condition,difficult to be industrialized. EUG still has not been taken full advantages of as NR.In this paper, EUG elastomer with excellent property was prepared.The crystalline was destroyed through chemical modification.The tensile crystallization and its effect on mechanical properties have been studied.A new kind of hydrosilated EUG(HsEUG) which has good compatibility with White Carbon Black and high elasticitymodulus. The main work of this paper is shown below:1. Differenthydrogenation degree of HEUGs and their vulcanized samples have been prepared. The mechanical test showed that HEUG with the hydrogenation degree of 85.9%(HEUG-85.9%)had the best mechanical properties. SynchrotronRadiation WAXD indicated that the alternant ethylene-propylene structure of HEUG lead to the molecular chain crystalline, tensile crystallization and tensile orientation which improve the mechanical properties of HEUG-85.9%. The transformation point is determined using percolation theory .2. A new kind of hydrosilated EUG elastomer was prepared through hydrosilation. HNMR and SiNMR illustrated that the hydrosilation reaction happened on EUG successfully. TGA result showed that the C=C bond decreased obviously. DSC results indicated that as the hydrosilation degree increased, Tg increased. XRD, PLM results proved that the crystalline structure was destroyed successfully. The transformation point is determined using percolation theory3. The best technology condition was determined by comparing the hydrosilation degree at different temperature, time, catalyst type and concentration,hydrosilane type and concentration.4. Different hydrosilation degree of HsEUGs and their vulcanized samples have been prepared. The tensile test showed that HsEUG-15.83% had the best mechanical properties. The elasticity modulus is higher than NR, EPDM and HEUG. The SEM results indicated that HsEUG has the better interfacial compatibility than NR,EPDM and HEUG. The DMTA result also shown that HsEUG had better interfacial compatibility and elasticity modulus.
