With the development of the level of computer and new media technology, augmented reality technology arises at the historic moment. Using the features of real time and intuition, it can be widely used in military training, industrial manufacturing, medical education,entertainment game and many other fields. In the background of the digital age, the traditional book industry has been subjected to a strong impact. The traditional book industry is changing subtly. The combination of augmented reality technology and publishing industry is conducive to promote the digital transformation of the publishing industry.The research of this topic is the development of augmented reality book application based on mobile terminal. Its content is mainly animal science books that located in the 2-6 year old children. It also includes the design of book and the application development. The augmented reality books are helpful to improve reading interest and attention. This book combines rich multimedia resources and has rich audio-visual effect. It combines the virtual 3D model with the real environment. It enhances the visual perception of the real situation with the three-dimensional graphics. This book merges the user, virtual object and surrounding space, it makes children feel rich in reading. The virtual three-dimensional model is combined with the real environment to enhance the visual perception in realistic situations, which makes reading interesting, interactive, realistic, immerse and creative.The research of this subject is to study and analyze the core technology of augmented reality and makes a contrast between prevailing augmented reality development platforms.This subject makes video, audio and other resources for children's books with multimedia technology. It uses Max 3Ds to realize the creation and optimization of 3D models. It implements the 3D interactive platform by using Unity3D that is the hottest 3D rendering engine currently. In terms of recognition, it uses the recognition algorithm that provided by Vuforia SDK. The interactive functions of the platform are developed and realized by C#.Finally it completes the build of Android platform. After the completion of augmented reality book based on mobile terminal, we print its paper books. The app can achieve the three-dimensional rendering of animals by recognizing the specific image of the paper book. The app has the feature of off card and other interactive features, if we touch screen to rotate the object. According to the recognition of the text image, it can read aloud the content of the text image. It also can play animated video.This subject combines augmented reality technology with traditional flat print. It lets readers interact with 3D models, animations and videos on the printed matter. It achieves a new reading experience that the contents of the book are vivid. The subject combines the augmented reality technology with the digital publishing platform. It makes the three-dimensional model or animation merge into the reader's surrounding real environment. Users can view the interaction from the first perspective. It brings the multimedia experience of electronic books to a whole new level.
