Under the background that Chinese chemical industry has high energy consumption,heavy pollution and low concentration ratio,in accordance withenergy-saving and cost-reducing design principle,this paper aims atexistingdry-process acetylene and its problems in purificationtechnology,combines with mature service experience of BH-type fillerdeveloped by this experiment group,improves ripple structures of traditional paddings,and designs a new MD sheet corrugated structured packingaiming athigh flux,small pressure drop,easy cleaning and other features.Regard air-water-oxygen as operating system,under normal temperature and pressure,use cold-mold test method,test the integrated property of new high flux paddings(MD125A,MD125B,MD250A and MD250B)and compare MD125A,125B with traditional 125X type.The test results show that the dry tower pressure drop of padding increases with the increase of the specific surface area,bending angle and gas velocity.The dry tower pressure drop of paddings of MD125A and MD125B type reduces 3.5%and 30%compared with that of the conventional 125X type,the dry tower pressure drop of paddings of MD125A type reduces 33.4%compared with that of paddings of MD250A type and the dry tower pressure drop of paddings of MD125B type reduces 30.6%compared with that of paddings of MD125A type.When the sprinkle density is L=33.72L/m3 m-2 h-1,the wet tower pressure drop of MD125A and MD125B reduces 17.3%and 9.1%,compared with that of 125X packings.When the specific surface area is constant,the flooding velocityrank is MD125B<MD125A<125X.When the sprinkle density is L=16.86L/m3 m-2 h-1,the height equivalent of theoretical plate of MD125A and MD125B reduces 33.6%and 3.2%,compared with that of 125X paddings.The experimental results show that the MD125B type paddings have the largest handling capacity and the hydrodynamics is better than that of the traditional 125X type padding,which is suitable for high fluxworking condition.This paper fits the relating equations of experimental datataking advantage ofsuitablefluid mechanics model and combining the experimental data and the characteristics of new packing,and finally gains the relating equations of pressure drop and flooding velocity of new packing via regression parameter.With the error analysis of experimental data and calculating data,most of the relative errors are less than 10%,and the fitting precision is high,which can predicate the fluid dynamics performance of MD high-flux packing.The experimental data of MD packing and associated research,as the basis,are finally applied in dry-process acetylene and the purification process.After a period of production application,this paper lists the application project examples and analyzes the data,and finally gains the economic benefit results.The results indicate that MD packing plays an important role for dry acetylene process reducing energy consumption.
