In recent years, large cities both at home and abroad during the event will take a series of measures which can strengthen the control of emission reduction to ensure air quality, and achieved good results. In this regard,domestic and foreign scholars apply observation、model simulation、model assessment and a series of means on air quality improvement effect、pollutant changes、meteorological factors research. At present, the study only focuses on the improvement of air quality during the single activity period, while the comparative study of the emission reductions during the multiple activities is less. Accordingly, the main contents and results of this paper are as follows:(1) According to the industrial point source control, dust source control,motor vehicle line control, regional defense joint control and other aspects ,the study summarizes the control measures during the major events and screens out effective measures: Firstly, due to the high cost of industrial point source control and hinder the normal production of enterprises, as a result, this measure only applies to temporary control; Secondly, screens out some measures which can increase the place cover、sprinkler, such as construction site、bare ground、material stacking, and increase the frequency of road cleaning operations、extend its operating time to effectively control the concentration of particulate matter; And then increase the yellow mark vehicle remediation efforts、improve oil quality and exhaust emission standards、improve road conditions、accelerate the promotion of new energy vehicles and the development of green traffic and other measures to control motor vehicle pollution, additional, odd and even number limit measures can also make a certain contribution to the reduction of motor vehicles; Moreover, it is also important to control the emission of various pollutants in the surrounding areas and establish a long-term mechanism for joint defense control.(2) Based on the APEC meeting in 2014 and military parade in 2015 which held in Beijing, as well as Nanjing youth Olympic Games in 2014 during the implementation of strengthen control measures and three years over the same period research, the study analysis various kinds of pollutants concentration, at the same time combining with the weather situation, finds that the strengthen control measures of emission reduction and good atmospheric diffusion conditions can effectively improve air quality ;In addition, even in the case of poor weather conditions, the measures of emission reduction can reduce pollutant emissions in a certain extent.(3 ) Through the analysis of meteorological conditions, control measures and effects during the three events of the Youth Olympic Games in 2014 in Nanjing, the APEC meeting and the parade in 2015 which held at Beijing, it can be found that the enhanced control and mitigation measures during the three events can be effective. In addition, although the implementation of intensive control measures in the three active period has some different, but it can significantly reduce emissions of PM2.5 and PM10 in a certain extent, and both of them can improve air quality; During the event, the pollution sources of SO2 and NO2 on emissions in Nanjing and Beijing Regional is different, and the effect of such pollutants emission reduction in Nanjing is better than Beijing.(4) Through quantitatively assess the impact of control measures on air quality during the various activities, therefrom screen out the optimal control measures and put forward some countermeasures and suggestions: 1. Develop a variety of pollution reduction plans to strengthen the synergistic control of pollutants, including strict control industrial pollution, improve the dust pollution control measures to strengthen the vehicle pollution control measures and other; 2. Strengthen the regional joint defense control and establish a long-term mechanism; 3. Strengthen the environmental air pollution research;4. Strengthen the environmental regulatory law enforcement; 5. Enhance public awareness of environmental protection.
