With the rapid development of economy in our country,petroleum consumption is increasing.Oil is mainly transported by maritime.but the frequent ship traffics lead to an increasement in sea oil spill accidents gradually,especially in the coastal area or the port where the space is relatively small,encountering with large waves and complex underwater surface structures,the accidents occurred more frequently.Due to the uncertainties of those offshore accidents in time and location,a device which can detect oil-spilling accident and alert to the terminal is devised.In this paper,a fluorescence detection system based on UV light source modulation is designed for the offshores and ports.The system with high sensitivity can detect the surface of the water 24 hours a day,and wouldn't be affected by the weather.While the event of an oil spill occurs,the system will trigger the alarm system and inform the staff in time to reach the scene for oil treatment and recycling,it can minimize the risk of oil spills in marine ecosystems.The paper devises a coastal oil-spilling detection system based on UV light source modulation which is implemented on the basis of the technique that the specific wavelength ultraviolet light source can stimulate the oil and generate fluorescence.The main work of the paper is as follows:1. The paper selected the components,designed circuit,built hardware platform according to the system technical indicators and the actual performance requirements.In this part,the hardware platform is divided into two parts: The front end mainly produces the ultraviolet light source,receives the fluorescent signal and converts the optical signal into the electric signal;the back one receives the electric signals coming from the front end,carries on the gathering and processes to the weak electric signals,and the processing result is visualized at the terminal.Finally,alarm circuit is designed based on it.The system can be divided into the following modules according to the function: light source excitation module,fluorescence detection module,control module,fluorescent signal acquisition and processing module,serial module,alarm module and power module.Completing the design and production of circuit board,building the main component of the hardware platform which is composed of single-wave ultraviolet light,photomultiplier,A / D chip and FPGA chip.2. Hardware drivers and data processing procedures.The main chip FPGA in the hardware driver provides the required working clock for each module chip to make it work properly;the data processing procedures achieve weak fluorescence accumulation,sliding average.The processing result is compared with the set threshold value,and the alarm signal is issued by the system if the number of time-exceeds-threshold is greater than the set value for a certain period of time.3. In the hardware platform and Quartus II software development environment,a large number of experimental data were collected to debug and operate the system and detect sea surface oil spill effectively,and achieve the main function of sea oil spill detection.
