To improve comprehensive performance of tools,we need to do some treatment on surface of them.At present,the application of coating on the surface of inserts has been widely extensive,and it has well results,such as high-end inserts.Because of unique superiority of laser texturing,in recent years,pioneering and exploratory research on surface of inserts have been carried out by scholars,and we have achieved some success.We all look forward to the form and application of coating and texture together and the effect of them.So this article tries to combine the technology of laser micro-texture with the technology of coating to inspect and verify the effect of them about cutting performance by simulation and experiment.The main researches of the article are as follows:Firstly,the simulation was built by ABAQUS,based on the theory of metal cutting,and it analyzed the cutting performance of two different types of micro-texture with coating at the same cutting condition,including cutting force? cutting temperature and the chips.The main results can be listed as follows: The phenomenon of concentration of stress and temperature is highlighted,especially at the raised area of concave cavity textured inserts with coating.Besides that,the distribution of stress and temperature is more homogeneous than convex textured inserts with coating.Secondly,so as to further improve the preparation procedure of the morphology of convex texture on the surface of cemented carbide,the influence of single pulse energy and times on size is analyzed in this chapter.Using magnetic sputtering to produce the coating of TiAlN,that is based on the micro-texture which are made by laser.After that,the author measured the performance of coating by electron microscope?hardness tester and X-ray.The result shows that the micro-texture has little effect on the hardness of coating,but it can decrease residual stress.Thirdly,cutting experiment were carried out by three types of inserts(no textured inserts with coating? convex textured inserts with coating and concave cavity textured inserts with coating)produced by technological test.Cutting force?cutting temperature and the chips at different speeds are analyzed in this article.We can know that different types of micro-texture have a little influence on cutting performance,but both are better than no textured inserts with coating.
