The compatibility of polymer materials is one of the key issues in determining the performance of polymer multiphase systems.Polyurethane(TPU)is a kind of elastomer with high strength,adjustable performance range and other advantages.In the process of expanding the application of the field,improving the compatibility of TPU and other polymer composition has become increasingly important.In this paper,PVDF-g-MMA compatibilizer was synthesized by Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization(ATRP)method,which improved the compatibility of polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)and polyurethane(TPU),and provided a new high-performance material for transportation and construction industry.At the same time,a kind of silicon-containing polyurethane(TPU-Si)was synthesized in this paper that was used as a special compatibilizer for improving the compatibilility of polyurethane/methyl vinyl silicone rubber(TPU / VMQ)blends.The thermoplastic elastomer material that was synthesized can be used in the field of wearable.In this paper,PVDF-g-MMA compatibilizer was synthesized by ATRP method.FTIR data showed that the grafting reaction had occurred.TG and DSC data showed that the grafted product had a good thermal stability,and the decomposition temperature and melting point of the PVDF main chain was remained stable after the grafting reaction.When MMA monomer was grafted onto the PVDF molecular chain,the crystallization capacity of PVDF decreased and there was a decrease in the crystallinity of PVDF.PVDF-g-MMA was used in increasing the compatibility of PVDF / TPU blends.In this paper,the thermal performance and mechanical properties of the blends after the expansion of capacity was investigated.The microstructural analysis of the impact profile of the blends was carried out by observing the electron micrographs.The results showed that PVDF-g-MMA had better compatibilizing effect on PVDF / TPU blends,and the tensile strength,elongation at break and impact strength were the best when the compatibilizer was added at 2wt% and 2.5wt%.When the compatibilizer content was 2wt%,the surface energy of the blends was the lowest and the compatibility of the blends was the best.It can be seen from the electron micrographs that the size of the dispersed phase particles was significantly reduced and the distribution was more uniform.In this paper,a silicon-containing compatibilizer was synthesized for the compatibilization of TPU / VMQ blends.FTIR data confirmed that silicon atoms were successfully embedded in the molecular chain of polyurethane.The synthetic silicon-containing compatibilizer was used to improve the compatibility of the TPU / VMQ blends,and improve the mechanical properties,rheological behavior and phase dispersion.The results showed that the compatibilizer had a significant compatibilizing effect on the TPU / VMQ blends: the two glass transition temperatures of the polymer phases were close to each other.The tensile strength and elongation at break were the best when the compatibilizer was added at 12wt% and 16wt%.When the amount of compatibilizer was 12wt%,the surface energy and compression set of the blends were the lowest,and the compatibility of the blends was the best.Microscopic analysis of electron microscopys showed that the size of dispersed particles was significantly reduced and the distribution was even more uniform.
