This subject is made under the background of horizontal continuous casting line of a steel plant at Handan, Hebei province. An AC servo control system of horizontal continuous casting machine was designed and implemented,according to the technological requirements. The system is mainly composed by touch panel, controller, AC servo drivers and seirvo motors. The fuzzy PID control algorithm was introduced into independentmotor controlling, to improve the response speed and the steady-state performance. Simultaneously, a modified parallel control strategy was proposed to realize the synchronization control of the two moters, and then to drive the tractor of the horizontal continuous casting machine. The main research work and achievements are as follows.1. Theory and design process of the fuzzy PID controller was studied, on the basis of which the simulation model was build.The simulation results show that the algorithm improved the dynamic response performance,compared with the traditional PID algorithm. Then thesimulation models of the master-slave control strategy, the parallel control strategy and the cross coupling control strategy were bulid in Simulink to analysis capabilities.Amodified parallel synchronization control strategy was proposed and simulated. Results indicate that the strategyreduced the synchronization error of parallel control and achieved good performance. Finally themodified parallel control strategy was chosen to realize two-axis synchronous.2. Subassemblies' hardware requirementsof the TCS(Traction Control System)were analyzed. Compared the PCLwiththe MCU, and combined with specific system requirements,the MCU was chosen to be thecontroller. Then hardware design of the servo control system was completed in detail, with the controller as the core.3. The software of the system was designed, which consist of the traction control program, the Modbus communication program and the touch panel monitor interface.Firstly the the fuzzy PID controller was realized in the traction control program, which makes a independent motor shall be carried out in accordance with the technological requirements. On this basis, the modified parallel control strategy was bulid to achieve two-axis synchronous, and then to drive the tractor. Modbus communication program realized data exchange betweenthe touch panel and the controller, the controller and the two servo drivers. Through the configuration in the MCGS environment, control instructioncan be sent and the operating statecan be monitored via the touch panel monitor interface.Throughon-site debuggingof the AC servo control system of horizontal continuous casting machine for cast iron bar, the results show that the system achieved all control requirements,and the introduce of the fuzzy PID controller and the modified parallel synchronization control strategyimprovedtwo-axis synchronous accuracy of the tractor.The system runstable, and the casting blankis completely ccordance with the requirements.
