The effect of the carbon black,the vulcanization system,the paraffin oil,the antioxidant,the structure of the EPDM and the aging process on the structure and performance of the EPDM foam damping material was studyed systematically in this paper,and dynamic and static stiffness of the foaming materials had been analyzed by means of the elastomer testing system(MTS).The results showed that the mechanical properties of the blends were improved with increaseing of the amount of the carbon black.In the meantime the cell morphology was improved,while dynamic stiffness/static stiffness ratio was increased gradually.The mechanical property of the blend with addition of the carbon black N330 was better,while the cell morphology of the rubber with addition of the carbon black N550 was better.The effect of carbon black ratio on the mechanical properties of foamed materials is relatively small.The loss factor was the largest when When the ratio of carbon black is 30/40,while the dynamic stiffness/static stiffness ratio was the smallest.The cell size of the foam material decreased with the increase of the amount of the curing agent,and the comprehensive mechanical properties improved,the best dosage of the sulfur and the DCP were 1.5phr and 3phr respectly.When the ratio of the assistant cross-linking agent TAIC and the DCP was 1/1,When the crosslinking agent TAIC and DCP were 1/1,it could promote crosslinking and improve mechanical properties.DCP/S curing system,affects the performance of the sulfur foam is bigger than DCP.mechanical properties improved.The effect of the sulfur on the properties of the foam materials was obvious than that of DCP in the DCP/S composite vulcanization system.The mechanical properties of the blends decreased with the increase of the amount of the wax oil.The mechanical properties were the best when the amount of paraffin oil was 15 phr.Comparison of different protection system,the foam material got better performance when the RD/4020 dosage was 1/1.The effects of the different structure EPDM on the mechanical properties of the foam materials was different.The number of cell in the unit area increased and the size of cell reduced with the increase of temperature and the prolongation of time,while the static stiffness variation decreased.
