Alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cell?AAEMFC?has been attracting increasing attention in the last few decades due to its high energy efficiency,use of non-noble metal catalysts and flexible fuel choice.As a key component of alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cell,alkaline anion exchange membranes?AAEMs?act as one of the important components of AAEMFCs,which can isolate the fuels of two chambers,and offer necessary channels for hydroxide ions conduction.But it still has major challenges existing in AEMs that suffers from low hydroxide conductivity,insufficient dimension and alkaline stability,which seriously limit the development of AAEMFCs.In view of these considerations above,AEMs with favorable hydroxide conductivity and excellent alkaline stability,environmental friendliness were developed by construct highly efficient ionic channel and stability in this study:?1?In the solution of polyvinyl alcohol?PVA?,p-vinylbenzyltrimethylammonium chloride?VBTMA?was used as monomer,divinylbenzene?DVB?as crosslinking agent,dibenzoyl peroxide?BPO?as initiator and in situ polymerization to form the first crosslinked network system.Then,PVA was subjected to chemical crosslinking with glutaraldehyde?GA?as crosslinking agent to form a second crosslinked network system.And alkaline anion exchange membranes with interpenetrating polymer network?IPN?structure were successfully prepared.The structure and performance of membranes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy?FT-IR?,scanning electron microscopy?SEM?,AC impedance technique and thermal gravity analysis?TGA?.The main contents are summarized as follows: The M-1M-9 series of anion exchange membranes have high hydroxide conductivity.The ionic conductivity of M-8 membrane increased from 52.18 mS cm-1 to 122.02 mS·cm-1 at 20 80 °C,and the IEC was only 1.504 meq·g-1.Meanwhile,the results of alkaline stability analysis of M-9 membrane showed that the hydroxide conductivity was maintained at 18.16 mS·cm-1 after immersion in 1 M NaOH solution at 80 °C for 7 days.?2?Polystyrene?PS?microspheres were successfully prepared by emulsion polymerization,and blended with ionic liquid?[BMMIm]Cl,[Bz MIm]PF6?,then heat-press to form membrane and ion exchange,PS-BzMIm-OH-and PS-BMMIm-OHbasic anion exchange composite membranes were successfully prepared.The poly?St-co-VBIm?microspheres were synthesized by emulsion polymerization,and the PS-VBIm-OH-membrane were prepared by heat-press and ion exchange.Meanwhile,the membranes have excellent dimensional stability.At 20°C,the hydroxide conductivity of PS-VBIm-OH-24 h membrane was 6.89 mS·cm-1,which was 36 times higher than PS-BMMIm-OH--0.4 membrane at 0.19 mS·cm-1.
