Palladium-based metallic catalysts possess widespread applications as electrocatalysts in direct alcohol fuel cells. In this dissertation,PtPd alloy nanoparticles and their nanocomposite with graphene are prepared by a simple route.Besides, silicotungstic acid is introduced to the nanocomposite by differrent approaches. The morphology, structure, and chemical composition of the hybrid nanomaterials are examined by a series of characterization techniques, such as scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Moreover, the palladium-based catalysts are also applied to investigate the electrocatalytic oxidation behavior towards organic molecules such as methanol and ethanol.Electrochemical results show that enhanced mass catalytic activity and stability can be found on these catalysts, which may be promising in applicable direct alcohol fuel cells. |
