At present,with environment of our country getting worse,haze is increasingly serious,and a lot of dust in converter flue gas is one of the sources of pollution.For this problem,dust emissions standards of the state reduce to less than 50 mg/Nm3.In converter flue gas dust removal system,atomization device in evaporative cooling system plays an important role,and it affects the fine dust in the electrostatic precipitator.So the article will do in-depth study about atomization system of evaporative cooler.The research applied computational fluid mechanics and the VOF model in FLUENT software module to simulate the gas and liquid flow state for the choice of atomizing medium of gas-liquid mixed phase flow nozzle within the evaporative cooling system of converter.Then we got the simulation results based on the velocity contours and the velocity vector diagram of x=0 section.We put the condition atomization angle,average quality diameter dMMD and sauter mean diameter dSMD as the judgment standards of atomization quality.Finally it was concluded that the average of ? was 74.43°,dMMD was 32.14?m,dSMD was 80.21?m using the water vapor as the atomizing medium,and the average of ? was 68.13°,dMMD was 24.48?m,dSMD was 49.89?m using the nitrogen as the atomizing medium.Then correlation analysis of the three judgment standard to the atomization quality was studied.We suggested that using nitrogen atomizing medium eventually.The article changed the angle under the condition of nitrogen as atomization medium,the gas phase pressure was 0.8MPa and the liquid pressure was 0.4MPa.It was concluded that atomization effect was best when the jet angle for 100±2°.In view of the evaporative cooler internal fouling problem,using the discrete phase model simulate to the atomization system.Final we suggested that the nozzle of the evaporative cooler set to 10 under the condition of the optimal spray cone angle.In this paper,the evaporative cooler nozzle atomizing medium,structure and layout optimization.The result had stronger practical value,and it provided a solid theoretical basis for the further study on the atomization system of evaporative cooler.
