The studies of novel coordination polymers have been one of the most active issues in the field of coordination chemistry,attributing to their fascinating varieties of frameworks,and potential application value in the areas of luminescence,gas storage,magnetism,nonlinear optics,etc.The final structures of the compounds are influenced by many factors,such as different metal ions,the change of organic ligands and reaction conditions.Among large numbers of organic ligands,aromatic carboxylic acids can ligand to different metal ions to form different dimensional functional coordination polymers due to various coordination modes.In this work,we obtained ten coordination polymers under hydrothermal reactions by reactating 5-methylisophthalic acid?H2mip?,5-Bromoisophthalic acid?H2Brip?,5-tert-butylisophthalic acid?H2tbip?and 5-aminoisophthalic acid?NH2-H2ip?and bis?imidazole?/imidazole ligands with zinc?II?acetate,nickel?II?acetate,cobalt?II?chloride and Copper?II?sulfate.Their crystal structures were determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction analyses,and further characterized by elemental analyses,infrared spectra and other properties.The main contents and conclusions are as follows:Firstly,three new coordination polymers,[Zn?Brip??1,2-Bie?]n?1?,[Ni2?mip??1,2-Bie??H2O?2]n?2?,[Ni2?Brip??1,2-Bie??H2O?2]n?3?were prepared under hydrothermal reaction based on 5-methylisophthalic acid and 5-Bromoisophthalic acid and 1,2-Bis?imidazole?ethane with zinc?II?acetate and nickel?II?acetate,respectively.Their crystal structure analyses show that complex 1 and complex 2,3 have different structures due to the difference of metal ions.Furthermore the photoluminescent property of complex 1 was also investigated.Secondly,seven new coordination polyers,[Co?tbip??im?2]n?4?,[Co?tbip??2-mim?2]n?5?,[Co?mip??2-eim??2-pim?]n?6?,[Cu?mip??2-eim?2]n?7?,[Cu?tbip??im?2]n?8?,[Cu?tbip??4-mim?2]n?9?and [Cu2?NH2-ip?2?H2O?2]n?10?have been synthesized by hydrothermal reaction base on 5-tert-butylisophthalic acid,5-methylisophthalic acid and 5-aminoisophthalic acid and imidazoles ligands with Cobalt?II?chloride and Copper?II?sulfate,respectively.Their crystal structure analyses show that the Co?II?ions form different one-dimensional chains through six and four coordination modes,and then stacked to form three-dimensional space structure;the Cu?II?ions exhibit five and six coordination modes,so we obtain different coordination polymers due to different coordination modes of metal ions.
