In recent years,inspired by the phenomenon of special animals and plants in nature,many superhydrophobic materials have been prepared and used in the areas of self clean,corrosion protection,transportation,resistance to freezing and so on.Traditional superhydrophobic materials preparation method has limitations due to the fixed base.In this article the hydrophobic silver powder was prepared with no fixed substrate,the wetting performance and application were studied.1.The dendritic silver was prepared by the substitution reaction between the copper powder and solution of silver nitrate.The silver could become superhydrophobic silver after modification by silane coupling agent.The experiment results suggested that the morphology of the silver was correlated with the concentration of silver nitrate,and the shape of the silver would directly influence the wetting property of solid surface.When the dosage of the silane coupling agent was 3% of the silver,the obtained silver hydrophobic effect is the best.The superhydrophobic silver was very stable and remained good hydrophobic properties under different pH and temperature conditions.Compared with no modified silver,superhydrophobic silver antibacterial performance declines,but still has good antimicrobial properties.2.We prepared the dendritic silver with zinc powder and solution of silver nitrate as raw materials by adjustment the concentration of the silver nitrate.After modification by hexadecyltrimethoxysilane the superhydrophobic silver was obtained.The hydrophobic properties of silver were correlated to the concentration of silver nitrate.Due to its dendritic structure and surface modification by organic silane,resistivity was improved obviously.The foam sample coated with superhydrophobic silver in water has obvious drag reduction effect compared with pure foam.With the increase of water drop volume,the contact angle on the superhydrophobic silver reduced.At the same time,the superhydrophobic silver surface also has good freezing resistance.3.The superhydrophobic coating of silver was prepared.Firstly,we put glass glue into anhydrous ethanol and got a uniform glass colloid,then put silver powder into the mixture,finally adding hexadecyltrimethoxysilane and superhydrophobic coating of silver was gotten.The amount of the hexadecyltrimethoxysilane was 3% of the quality of silver powder.The coatings could be coated on the surfaces of different substrates,such as stainless steel,glass,paper,etc.The resulting hydrophobic silver coating had good hydrophobic stability and could resist the water vapor.The experimental result showed polyvinyl alcohol was a very good adhesive reagent and it can significantly enhance the adhesion strength of the coating and substrate.
