Technological innovation promotes the increasing demand for micro-parts,product miniaturization also put forwards higher requirements for the micro-manufacturing technology.As a kind of microfabrication technology,micro-punching technology gets more and more attention of researchers and engineering and technical personnel for its unique advantages;its high efficiency,low cost and the good quality of the workpiece promotes this technology to become a promising prospect in the field of microfabrication.Limited with the micro-scale mold preparation and assembly level,micro-punching processing need further study.As one of the earlier started micro-manufacturing technology,the micro-EDM can realize the processing of complex three-dimensional cavity on the conductive material.This paper presents a micro-punching process based on micro-EDM,and based on this,the construction of the composite platform is completed.The author established the control program based on NI LabVIEW system,and completed the micro-punching molds manufacturing in the composite processing machine.In the process of molds processing,the author introduced the anti-copy electrode as a transition to achieve the manufacturing of complex micro-punch.The process achieved a fixture to complete the entire process by one installation to avoid the error caused by multiple installation;in the process,the die and anti-copy electrode are machined by micro-spark three-dimensional milling technology and the punch is made by anti-copy technology.In order to improve the processing state,the author introduced the ultrasonic assisted vibration system in the molds preparation process in order to promote the working fluid flow state in the machining area.In this paper,the dimension accuracy of the micro-punching molds is analyzed,and the factors that affect the machining precision are summarized.Accordingly,the complete mold processing process of process parameters,size control strategy,mold alignment strategy,as well as mold on-line processing and punching experiment is developed.According to the designed experimental scheme,the preparation of the rounded rectangle,the L-shaped ladder type and the more complicated micro-molds were fabricated respectively.The punching test was carried out on the brass,stainless steel and 3J21 material respectively.The results of micro-punching test show that the micro-punching technology based on micro-EDM can realize high-efficiency and low-cost machining of micro-parts with complex cross-section.The complex micro punching molds can be fabricated by micro-EDM,the precision of the dimension can be controlled within ± 3?m.The punching results of the designed micro parts show that the shape accuracy of the micro parts satisfies the requirement and the edge of the punching pieces is clear,and the size consistency is good.
