Needlework Artwork is the traditional artistry made by women.It is a woman In a purely manual way to Sewclothes with needle and thread.In details,it means textil,embroidery and sewing.In the study of Chinese needlework,the author focuses on the aesthetic values of Chinese needlework culture to women.The models,patterns and colors of the needlework bring us many unique visual aesthetic elements and also reflect the pure heart,the feminine personality,the life attitude and the spirit of the producers of the needlework,and what’s more,the social values of women.The aesthetic carriers,i.e.the unique aesthetic values of traditional needlework and the emotional experience appearing in the producing of the needlework,could guide us to carry out proper aesthetic activities and promote the aesthetic perception,experiencing and creation,which could then promote the national belongingto local culture,especially the cultivation of feminine tenderness.This thesis studies the brief history of Chinese needlework culture,the artistic beauty of needlework and the aesthetic values of needlework.Firstly,the needlework is affirmed artistically.It is a cultural system that forms automatically in the female community.The thought of more than 3000 agricultural society is based on agriculture forms that the male cultivate and the female weaving.Needlework Artwork is bornwith this traditionallife.The needlework developed with the development of the productivity and the relation of production.It had different forms in the primitive society,the feudal society and the modern society.Because of different natural environments,etiquette cultures and national customs,the needlework presented different styles in different regions.Generally speaking,the needlework in the north are free and forceful,while the ones in the south are exquisite.Secondly,Chinese needlework present various types and functions,because the needlework producers come from different cultural levels and the needlework serve different objects.For example,the imperial needlework produced by the vocational embroiderers are official needlework.The needlework for scholars is pure and plain.The folk needlework for the practical needs and the family bounds is simple and straight.The folk needlework supports the whole national cultural heritage with its “root” feature by decorating people’s lives widely and deeply.Its long history contains “the true”,“the good”,and “the beautiful”.So this article focuses on folk Needlework.Finally,this article summarizes the aesthetic value of needlework culture from emotional sustenance to literary communication,from embroidery process to famous embroidery,from humanistic communication to femininity,from imitation embroidery to design creation,etc.It can be found thatneedleworkartis full of rich aesthetic education resources from the creation process to the finished product to appreciate.Needlework,as the carrier of aesthetic education,is close to the family and life.Because of its artistic uniqueness,it renders aesthetic education activities advantages of participation,operation and transmission.If the needlework art is blended into the cultural heritage,school aesthetic education and family aesthetic education,perhaps we can harvest more sweetness and happinessfromthis way of life aesthetics! This is also my original intention and vision in studying such a gorgeous needlework phenomenon.
