Shandong Province is the main production province of fruits and vegetables,which not only supplies fruits and vegetables in China,but also exports many fruits and vegetables to Japan,Korea and other countries.Fruits and vegetables planting may cause a series environmental pollution and resource abusement problems,so corresponding countermeasures must be adopted not only to increase overall quality of fruits and vegetables,but also to strengthen continuous competitiveness and maintain sustainable development of fruits and vegetables production of Shandong Province.Cleaner production means the continuous application of an integrated,preventative environmental strategy to processes,products and services to increase eco-efficiency and reduce risks to humans and the environment.Investigate cleaner production potentials of fruits and vegetables planting can effectively identify the cleaner production opportunity,so as to formulate corresponding cleaner production plans.In this paper,Yantai apples and Shouguang cucumbers are selected as the research object,resource consumption and pollutant discharge were analyzed during each steps of apple and cucumber production.According to the principle of source reduction,comprehensive prevention and overall-process control,it was found that the process of Shandong fruits and vegetables production still has the phenomenon of resource abusement,ecosystem degradation and environmental pollution.The planting process of fruits and vegetables has big cleaner production potentials,which are mainly manifested as below:Huge supply side improvement potentials.Fruits and vegetables production needs the transformation that from high input,high yield production based on resource consumption and environmental pollution to the pursuit of high quality,high value-added mode.In the upgrading of quality and obtaining higher income from market operations can get a huge potential for cleaner production.Management of fertilization does not achieve universal organic fertilization and formulated fertilization based on soil characterization.Random and experience based over fertilization not only reduces effectiveness of nutrient and increase production cost,but alsoleads to soil acidification and environmental pollution.The management of plant diseases and insect pests is still confined to the end treatment that killing pests by chemical pesticides.Promotion of ecological plantation and integrated ecological prevention and control technology have a long way to go.Management of irrigation water needs to be improved.Main irrigation method is still traditional irrigation,and popularization of trickle irrigation and other water-saving irrigation techniques needs to be promoted.Wastes like greenhouse films,reflective films and cap bags during production process were lack of professional recovery processing.Randomly discarded white waste not only causes landscape problem,but also leads to the decline of soil fertility and the problem of underground water source pollution.Extensive harvest and storage are the main way due to limitation of labor force and technology,the scale and range of market-oriented professional operation need be to advanced.Comprehensive development and deep processing ratio of fruits and vegetables is low,and fruits and vegetables resources of comprehensive development approach need to be improved,so as to achieve comprehensive utilization and high efficient integration of fruits and vegetables resources.Currently,fruits and vegetables production of Shandong Province has big cleaner production potentials.Though implementing corresponding cleaner production plan,increasing resource utilization rate and reducing damage to environment,so as to realize the transition of the prevention first and production all-process control in the process of improving fruits and vegetables production from the end treatment,Improving the utilization of resources and reducing the destruction of pollutants on the environment can ensure better fruits and vegetables quality and higher yield.In the meanwhile,ecological and environmental protection can be comprehensively considered,and sustainable development of fruits and vegetables production of Shandong Province can be ensured.
