The solid expandable tubular technology is a revolutionary technology developed in the past 20 years.The situations,such as poor processing quality or improper choice of solid expandable pipe body and thread,will increase the construction risk,reduce the service safety of the solid expandable tubular and even lead to the scrapping of oil and gas wells.The physical evaluation testing is very important for the application of expandable tubular product,as it can prevent the non-conforming expandable tubular products imported into the oilfield,and ensure the safety and reliability of the solid expandable tubular service.It can also provide experimental basis for the pipe and thread design and development,In this study,based on the analysis of solid expandable tubular testing method and the existing technologies at home and abroad,the main influencing factors of the expansion process of the solid expandable tubular are analyzed,and then the whole testing equipment and evaluation method of the solid expandable tubular are designed.Firstly,based on the analysis of the characteristics of the expandable tubular and domestic and foreign literatures,the general law of the expansion process is simulated and analyzed,as well as the solid model,mesh model,mechanical model and material model of the expandable tubular are simulated,and the rule of the main influencing factors of geometric parameters,geometric imperfections and friction coefficients in the expansion process is obtained.Secondly,based on the fully researched theory,the physical testing equipment,including the hardware and software of the solid expandable tubular,is designed.The function of hardware is mainly to obtain the key parameters through the sensor by operating the upper computer on the lower one.The software is mainly to get the important parameters related such as derived expansion pressure,and the start hydraulic pressure and others based on the oil industry in the relevant standards recommended by the calculation model.Lastly,multiple sets of expandable tubular samples are tested to verify theoretical basis of simulation and performance of expansion testing equipment.The test results show that the project design of solid expandable tubular testing equipment can realize the performance evaluation of the expandable tubular products.
