| The problem of children with autism has attracted increasing attention.However,the relevant research is still very lagging behind.At present,the study of autism is mostly engaged in psychology,and the design staff is relatively scarce.Autistic children have special needs for toys,but the general toys cannot fully meet them,that put forward new requirements for toy design.Ordinary designers faced with new challenges when they design toys for autistic children.First of all,research in the phenomenon of autistic children,medical interpretation,psychological intervention and education and other aspects to understand the development trend of the entire field.Using the observation method,the children’s autism children were followed up for half a year in Guangzhou Sunflower Children’s Service Center.The education and rehabilitation training course of autistic children was followed up to understand their physical and mental characteristics and their relationship with toys interactive behavior.Secondly,according to the observation results,autistic toys were classified and produced as "ASD’s toys classification table".It can serve as a framework to improve the designer’s output when designing toys for ASDs.In the sound preference experiment,using the dual analysis method to obtain accurate experimental data.Design "Skybox" to improve ASDs’ efficiency in sensory integration.Finally,the relevant experiments were summarized and the principles of toy design for children with autism were extracted.Main contributions:(1)Sort ASD’s toys from the perspective of designer and collated into "ASD’s toys classification table";(2)Organization of 26 designers to participate in the experiment,verify that "ASD’s toys classification table" can use as a framework to help designer to improve their productions;(3)Using dual method in sound preference test for two ASDs,fill the autistic children’s sound preferences research academic blank;(4)Design "Skybox",a toy for sensory integration traing,verify the effectiveness of framework from the perspective of design research;(5)Summed up the experience of toy design for ASDs,put forward seven principles of autistic toy design.Main conclusion:(1)Autistic children’s toys design classification has its particularity.Put forward "ASDs toys classification table" for designers;(2)Experiments show that "ASD’s toys classification table" can effectively help designers to design more effective,more dimensions of ASD’s toys;(3)Based on this,in the case study,"Skybox" can improve ASD’s performance in sensory integration training. |
