The Fusion Of Traditional Auspicious Concept And Contemporary Fashion Design

In the modern fashion design world,the cultural and economic cooperation between China and the other countries have been intensified with globalization.The traditional Chinese design art is constantly challenged by foreign trends of thought and aesthetic ideas,the Chinese design styles have thus been deeply influenced and become more and more westernized,which imposes a powerful impact on the tradition Chinese design art.In the meantime,the art will be faded or even diminished if losing its cultural core and aboriginal spirits.As a consequence,the Chinese fashion design community is trying to make every effort to bring traditional Chinese cultures back to mainstream design circle and lay more emphasis on the nationalization,localization and individuation of design,in order to set up the balance between traditional art and modern art and satisfy people’s emotional needs in terms of fashion design.The auspicious concept,based on the traditional Chinese auspicious culture,as an excellent Chinese folk culture,budded in ancient times and gradually spread into people’s daily life.The auspicious concept not only influences Chinese customs,languages and patterns,but also shapes people’s aesthetic taste on graphic design,building design,environmental design and implements design,which definitely leads to the fact that fashion design,as an essential part of modern people’s daily life,have been influenced by the auspicious concept in a significant way.This paper firstly introduces the origin of the auspicious concept,then states the comprehension of the concept,and finally discusses the concept and its pattern manifestation all around,aiming to render readers a fundamental cognition about the concept.As mentioned above,the influence of the auspicious concept can be found in every aspect of Chinese’s daily life,thereby the huge impact on fashion design could not be ignored.In the chapter three,the realistic manifestation is comprehensively analysed and summarized in terms of patterns,colors,styles.The traditional auspicious concept has been through Chinese history for thousands of years,thus integrated into the Chinese culture core.So in chapter four,the influence of the traditional auspicious concept on the taste of fashion design is given a priority to be expounded.In this chapter,in the beginning,the influence of the traditional auspicious concept on the taste of fashion design is mentioned,and then the influence of the concept on designs of patterns,colors,styles are stated respectively.In the chapter five,the paper demonstrates my individual insights in the application of the traditional auspicious concept in modern design.The thesis of the paper accents that application of the traditional auspicious concept in modern design could not only help inherit and develop Chinese traditional cultures but also advance Chinese garment industry and fashion design.
