Along with the development of science and technology, the organic pigment is more and more prominent in printing domain, while the superfine pigment technology is an important branch of organic pigment. The preparation of cationic waterborne ultra-fine cationic pigment is also a develop trend of ultra-fine pigment.A polymerizable cationic surfactant methacryloxyethyl dodecyldimethyl ammonium bromide (DMDB) was synthesized by dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and n-dodecanebromide at 50℃for 20h. The product is characterized by FTIR and 1HNMR. And its critical micelle concentration, melting point and dissolvability were investigated.Based on some papers concerned, the method of micro-jet was selected in the process of preparation of cationic ultra-fine pigment. Then the surfactant was used as a dispersing agent to prepare Ultra-fine Pigment Dispersions by the way of ultrasonic.Effects, the time and power of ultrasonic and the mass fraction of DMDB affect the properties of the dispersions, was studied in this dissertation. The results show that when the surfactant mass fraction was above 0.3%, the ultrasonic time was 30min, the ultrasonic power was 480W, the particle size of the dispersions would be lower than 300nm, its Zeta potential was about 25mv, and its centrifuging stability would be better.
