In order to research the abnormal formation mechanism of H2 S in Xinjiang Fukang mining area,the coal's proximate analysis,total sulfur and sulphur in different forms,characteristics of pore,hydrgeochemical characteristics,sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB)enrichmented and cultured and sulfur isotope test were illustrated in Wudong coal mine which are the representative hydrogen sulfide abnormal coal mine in Fukang mining to analysize the bacterial sulfate reduction(BSR)and thermochemical sulfate reduction(TSR).The results show that comparing with normal coalbed water,the concentration of sulfate ion was lower,however the carbonate ion concentration was higher,especially the ratio of carbonate ion and sulfate ion molar concentration were abnormally higher in abnormal coalbed water.The total sulfur content is generally higher than 0.5%,and the sulfur content in coal was also higher in abnormal coalbed.The pore surface area and volume were lower in macroporous and mesopore and transitional pore,however,apparently higher in micropore.Based on the enrichment and cultivation of SRB in H2 S abnormal coal mine water,combined with th characteristics of source of water and coal and mine geological characteristics,the BSR was confirmed in Wudong mine.The TSR was also verified by the sulfur isotope test of sulfur which were consistent in hydrogen sulfide gas and sulfate in water and sulfide in coal.
