The large base and the high growth of registered vehicles lead to proportion of vehicle emission in air pollution increases constantly.The influence of air pollution and energy consumption for daily lives of people is increasingly severe.The vehicle emission is closely interrelated with vehicle performance,fuel quality and operation,as well as the road alignment index.This paper reveals the relationship between vehicle emission,fuel consumption and road alignment index by combining MOVES emission prediction model with measured datas and researching the impaction of road alignment index to vehicle emission and fuel consumption.Meanwhile,this paper provides technical guidance to road alignment design based on vehicle emission and fuel consumption.The reaserch topcs include the following aspects:Firstly,the paper simulates vehicle emission and fuel consumption of road alignments by MOVES.The drive operation model of vehicle is the most important parameter in MOVES.The paper divides the road alignments into straight section,longitudinal section,horizontal curve section and curve-ramp section and researches drive operation condition and simulation program of vehicle in different road alignment.Evaluation of road alignment to vehicle emission and fuel consumption will be given after that.The measurement will be conducted by GPS-RTK and Testo 350 gas analysis meter inside the range of GPS base station.The vehicle operation distribution in actual roads road will be imported in MOVES model and the model data will be compared with measure data.The paper suggests the apposite speed and optimized road alignments aim at decreasing the emission and fuel consumption of vehicle.It has importance reference value to promote energy conservation and develop green transportation.The main conclusions of paper are following after simulation analysis by MOVES emission prediction model and verification by GPS-RTK measuring data:90?100km/h is the perfect speed for emission and fuel economy of passenger car.The heavy-duty truck had better be drived in high speed inside the range of design speed.Longitudinal slop can bring huge impact to vehicle emission and fuel consumption,as a result it will be avoided that increase multiply in vehicle emission if the pertinent slope can be chosen.The vehicle emission and fuel consumption will be reduced without minor radius plane curve.It is necessary to select suitable form of curve-ramp based on the safety of driving while curve-ramp design because of the effect of curve-ramp forms to vehicle emission and fuel consumption.This paper suggests the recommended values of road alignment indexes aim at reducing the emission and fuel consumption of vehicle.The vehicle emission and fuel consumption will decrease significant in creating and rebuilding of road.
