With the rapid development of urbanization, the traffic demand increases rapidly, motor vehicle ownership also maintained rapid growth in Shen Zhen in recent years.Motor vehicle exhaust pollution has become the main source of urban air pollution. Therefore, the control of motor vehicle exhaust pollution has been imminent.Obviously,it is an important prerequisite for making effective control strategies to accurately caculate the total amount of pollutant and emission characteristics. This study was based on the MOVES model developed by the US EPA to carry out the calculation of emission inventory. The default emiss ion rates in MOVES were repalced by the onboard emission data.T hen the measured data were used to verify the model, the simulation effect of private car,bus and container truck insreased by 47%,53%,70% respectively after localization. Finally, the MOVES Shenzhen model was consistent with the emission characteristics of vehicles in Shenzhen. The MOVES Shenzhen model was used to establish the emission inventory in different scales. In project scale, the total amount of motor vehicle emissions in Liuxiandong area in 2020 were forecasted. In county scale, the vehicle emission inventory in Shenzhen in 2015 were caculated, and the emission characteristics from different perspectives were analyzed. The total emissions of HC,CO,NOX,CO2 and PM2.5 of vehicles in Shenzhen were 2.509,19.161,5.410,1 780.916 and 0.342 million tons respectively. The passenger car had great contributions to HC,CO and CO2,accounting for 84%,74% and 70% of the total emissions respectively.NOX and PM2.5 were mainly from the China Ⅲ emission standard vehicles. Finally, based on the road network in Shenzhen, the method of combining line source and surface source was adopted, the spatial and temporal distribution of the emission inventory were established, and the distribution characteristics and regularities were analyzed. The results showed that the pollution was concentrated in Nanshan,Futian,Baoan and Longgang, which accounted for over 65% of total emissions. The vehicles emissions of the expressway were significant, and its emission intensity was higher than the arterial roads 2~6 times. In terms of time, the pollutants emission of the morning peak was maximum, followed by the evening peak, which was higher than other time 1.74 and 1.42 times respectively.
