Soft nose of mango fruit is a kind of physiological disorders that impacts the edible quality and commercial value of fruit. It is impossible to distinguish between disease fruits and normal fruits at harvest due to the disease symptom in fruit just developed and appeared along with the ripening process during storage,In this paper,'Keitt' mango and 'Zill'mango were as experiment materials, the development of soft nose associated with mineral elements in soil and leave, fruit size, postharvest storage time, different preharvest bagging treatment, and the mineral elements in the pulp of mango fruit was investigated during postharvest. The main results were as following:(1)The incidence of soft nose in 'Keitt' mango was significantly higher than that in 'Zill' mango, which indicated that the soft nose was related to the variety of mangoes. The mineral elements contents in the origin soil, old and tender leaves, and the flesh were different, and K content was highest level compared to the other elements. The highest content of elements in sarcocarp was K,and in the soil.Ca content in leaves was higher than that in the soil, and Ca in the flesh was lowest. It indicated that Ca was absorbed after the main distribution in the leaves.(2)The incidence of soft nose in 'Keitt' mango was positively correlated with fruit weight, circumference and storage time.Ca content in the flesh of fruit decreased with the increase in fruit weight, and Ca content in the rotten flesh was lower than that in unrotten. The high K content and low Ca content in the flesh of mango fruit was an important factor to cause soft nose in mango fruit.(3)Preharvest bagging improves the fruit quality, but increases the incidence of soft nose in mango fruit during postharvest. The incidence in mango fruit with white bag was higher than that with yellow bag.DRIS analysis showed that Ca could affect the incidence of soft nose, but it was not the only element and balance among various elements including Ca,K,N,Mg,Mn,Fe,and Cu was more important for control the soft nose in mango fruit.
