Modern Tribology thinks that the reasonable micro-textured surface has better anti-wear and anti-friction performance.The research of the micro-textured tool show that micro-textured surface is an effective measure to improve the tool cutting performance and reduce the tool wear.Twist drill is a kind of tools often used in machine process.Due to the limit of the structure,grinding method and machining environment,fast tool wear has already restricted and hindered the further advance of the processing efficiency and quality.So this paper put forward the micro-textured twist drill with different groove parameter.The groove texture is designed on the tool-chip interface of the rake face.Finite element simulation analysis and drilling test are used to research the influencing rule and mechanism of the surface micro-textured twist drill with different groove width and distance.The research provides a beneficial guidance for the design of the surface micro-textured twist drill.The main contents are as followed:Firstly,the three-dimensional simulation model of drilling 45 steel is founded by the Deform-3D.The drilling force,temperature,wear and cuttings form of the non-textured twist drill and the surface micro-textured twist drill are simulated under the same conditions.The results show that the placement of surface micro-texture is benefit to reduce drilling force,temperature and tool wear.The texture also can redirect the direction of chip flow.Secondly,the drilling performance of the textured drills which have different groove parameters is compared by finite element analysis.The results show that the surface texture with different groove width and distance has different influence of the drilling performance.The drilling force decreased to a minimum value and then increased with the increase of the groove width.The drilling force,temperature and tool wear has the tendency of reduction with the groove distance decreasing.Thirdly,in order to determine the optimized parameters of laser processing technique,the effect of the laser processing parameters(power,frequency;scanning speed and scan times)on the groove width and depth is analyzed by orthogonal test.The laser marking machine is used to process the surface micro-texture on the rake face of the twist drill,and then using the three-dimensional microscope to observe the topography and measure the parameters of the surface micro-textured twist drill.Finally,in order to research the drilling performance of the surface micro-textured twist drills and analyze the impact of micro-texture with different groove width and distance,the micro-textured twist drills are tested by dry drilling 45 steel.The experimental results show that the micro-textured twist drill can effectively reduce the drilling force,increase the drilling cuttings curl,capture the small cuttings and slow the abrasion of the drill.The groove width of micro-texture have a great effect on the drilling performance,100?m is a best groove width.Within a certain range,increasing the groove width is beneficial to improve the drill performance,but oversized width may bring out serious negative effects.It is better to decrease the distance of each groove and increase the number of the micro-texture.
