17-4PH is a martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel,.It has good mechanical properties,and its corrosion resistance is also outstanding.It is widely used in the fields of aviation,petrochemical,nuclear reaction and so on.In the deep hole processing,due to the great differences in the properties of different materials,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the deep hole processing of 17-4PH.This paper mainly studies the deep hole drilling and boring machining of 17-4PH.First of all,the material properties of 17-4PH were studied.Through the study of material properties,the processing difficulty of the material was clarified.Finally,it was found that the 17-4PH material had a large cutting force,was difficult to break chips,and was difficult to dissipate heat.Then,the drilling mechanism of deep-hole drilling with internal chip removal was studied,and various processing systems,processing methods of chip breaking,and mechanical model of BTA deep-hole drill were studied.Then the finite element software is used for static analysis of deep-hole drill bits for internal chip removal,and modal analysis and harmonic response analysis are performed for the drill bit and drill pipe as a whole.Statics show that the stress at the middle of the drill bit cutting edge and the drill bit joint is maximum,and the natural frequency of the drill pipe is obtained by dynamic analysis,The frequency in processing cannot be too close to these frequencies.Finally,a deep hole machining test was conducted to design the deep hole processing parameters,and the phenomena and results in the tests were analyzed.The analysis result shows that the tool wear in the 17-4PH drilling process mainly shows the wear of the rake face,the flank face and the guide block,and the wear condition of each cutting tooth is also not the same.The causes of wear include abrasive wear,adhesive wear and diffusion wear;The wear of the tool directly affects the shape of the chip,and the wear condition of the tool can be judged by observing the shape of the chip,so that the drilling process can be better monitored;After the tool wears,the force of the tool will also change,which will affect the feed direction of the drill,so it will have a greater impact on the hole deflection.There are many factors involved in deep hole processing.This article has only done some in-depth research on the main part of it,hoping to have some reference for actual processing.
