Tertiary amine occupies a key position in the oleo industry as they are used in the production of a variety of surface active agents for personal care and household marketing. The catalytic amination of aliphatic alcohol with dimethylamine represents an economical way for the synthesis of dodecyldimethylamine, but there is still a great space for improvement in terms of activity and selectivity of Cu-based or Cu/Ni-based solid catalyst.Through the pilot test of a kettle reactor, the properties of different Cu based solid catalysts were analyzed.Cu 60/8P?13MDH051 and Cu zirconia were tested, with the best one as Cu 60/8P for conversion rate 96%,selectivity 90%and yield 86.4%.Based on the selectivity, conversion rate and yield, the effects of reaction temperature, catalyst type and catalyst content on the reaction were investigated. The optimization results are 220? and catalyst content 1.5%The thermodynamic equation of reaction was established, the reaction activation energy was determined as E=18407.63J/mol,A=0,15 s-1,R=0.997.The adsorption dehydration process was simulated and a mathematical model of continuous adsorption was established. The error by Short-cut Calculation for the adsorption process less than 2.2%,prediction error for height of column less thaną5%.By lower the flow rate for two times, the breakthrough time can be prolonged for 17.8%without considering the capacity of the recycling gas amount.
