Terahertz Spectroscopy Detection Of Metal Corrosion Process

Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy(THz-TDS)is used in analysis of metal corrosion,metal corrosion process under coating and corrosion products.The analysis on corrosion process is as follows:Transmission THz-TDS is used in measurement of iron material samples with different corrosion degree.The reflectance of Terahertz spectral is associated with the corrosion degree of metal plate.The reflectivity change of samples during the corrosion process shows the rule of sample reflectivity change with the reaction time.The analysis shows that reflectivity of sample drops rapidly before the surface is covered by corrosion products.THz-TDS is used in measurement of iron plate with different thickness of coating.The analysis shows that transmission THz-TDS can be used to detect the coating thickness through the research of THz spectrum of coating samples with different thickness.The regular of reflectivity of samples with different thickness of coating under the different corrosion time can be got through the study of the transmission THz-TDS.Furthermore,different proportions of iron compounds are tested by transmission THz-TDS.
