The C5 fraction,which was the byproduct of ethane device,consists of molecules such as isoprene(IP),cyclopentadiene(CPD)and pentadiene(PD).The C5 fraction can be used to manufacture petroleum resin and other high-value-added products.With the increasing of ethane production,the amount of it would be more.The deep processing and rational utilization of C5 can improve the value of added products and extension ethylene industrial to downstream.The common process is to react CPD with itself to form hign boiling dicyclopen-tadiene(DCPD)that can be separated from other C5 molecules by predistillation column.In addition,extractive distillation is also used to recover alkynes from light ends.Such a process involves the use of eight separation columns?two reaction zones and three recycle streams,which may lead to a snowball effect and the difficulty in controlling the process.Hence,many opportunities for process integration are available.Based upon the features of conventional C5 separation process and characteristics of dimerization,two new C5 separation prcess were developed.One separates IP and CPD before dimerization,the other couples the dimerization reaction zone and the predistillation column to a reactive distillation column.Such integrations increase not only process operablitity but also the product concentration of DCPD,while maintaining a hign purity for the IP stream and PD stream.In this paper,the conventional dimerization-separation process,the dimerizationafter-separation process and the the reactive separation process for the C5 separation are modelled in Aspen Plus process simulation.The sensitivity analysis of feed location,theoretical plate number,reflux ratio,solvent/feed ratio and other parameters were finished to determine the initial value of each parameter for further optimization.In addition,the pre-distillation heavy column,the De-isoprene column,the reactive distillation column and the extractive distillation column are taken an emphasis on analysis process.Finally,the comparison on the process,product purity and yield,energy conservation and the flowrate of DMF of three processes is studied.The results show that,the common process is complex,the product purity and yield are relatively low,the flowrate of DMF is most,but the energy consumption is least.The dimerization-after-separation process is simple,the product purity,yield and the energy consumption are relatively highest.The process,the product purity and yield and energy consumption of the reactive separation process is medium,but the flowrate of DMF is least.
