Print is one significant kind of information media.With the development of living standards and environmental awareness,increasingly importance has been attached to high quality prints.One of effective tool to control printing quality is reflective model.So far the available model can be divided into three types such as geometrical optics,radiation transmission and signal transformation.There is no doubt that these models promote printing quality partly,but these model all concrete on different sides and only present reflectance data.Taking scattering and multiple internal reflections into consideration,this paper study on a new reflectance model based on Monte-Carlo method,which not only can show reflective data but also dot morphology image.Monte-Carlo method is one kinds of probabilistic method essentially.Just concerning on particle property of light,there are various forms of photons propagation such as reflection,transmission and scattering,The simulation of photons propagate in prints is implemented based on different dot structure and material characters.After thousands of time simulation,the simulated information is obtained.Through analyzing simulated data,not only reflectance but also dot morphology image is presented,which can be used to evaluate printing quality from quantitative and qualitative aspects.The innovation of this paper is presented as following.(1)Taking various optical forms into consideration,Monte-Carlo method is applied to printing reflectance model,which is usually used in various domain including physics,finance and medical science.(2)Dot structure can affect printing quality.This paper establish round,oval,square and diamond reflectance model separately.(3)With the help of Monte-Carlo method,the established model not only can show reflective data but also dot morphology image.The main aspects this study focused on are as follows:(1)Optical parameters about paper and ink are analyzed to research on the interactions of them,so that the main factors to model accuracy can be confirmed.(2)Classic printing model are studied and compared with each other.The advantage and shortage of classic model could contribute to establish Monte-Carlo model.(3)Based on Monte-Carlo methods,the simulation process is designed.After that the printing reflectance models of different dot shape are established.(4)The accuracy and applicability of established model are tested and verified from quantitative and qualitative aspects separately.This paper studied and established a new reflectance printing model which not only could show reflective data but also could display dot morphology image,so that the printing quality could be predicted from double sides.This printing control model only needs computer to simulate without realistic printing process,which is effective and environment acceptable.In addition,the model provides basic example to research on dot microscopic characters and open new door to predict printing quality.
