Wood-plastic composites is a new kind of material with characteristics of environment protecting and as a kind of substitute of wood materials,Wood-plastic composites material was appeared.The surface of wood-plastic composites material is monotonous color,lack of sense of wood and low decorative,and wood texture is becoming more and more widely use in furniture,decorative building materials,landscape materials etc..Therefore,the wood texture decoration of wood-plastic composites has been a focus.The water transfer printing technology was used for the surface decoration of woodplastic composites.The wettability,functional groups and chemical elements were characterized using contact angle,wetting rate,FTIR and XPS.The results showed that transfer printing effect was better when the wetting rate was lower on the obverse side and higher on the reverse side;a large of polar groups such as hydroxyl,carbonyl and carboxyl were existed in the printing film and make the printing film had good wettability and adhesion.Using the wood/polyethylene composites and wood/polypropylene composites as the substrates of the water transfer printing technology,the effect of wood texture decoration,surface tension after the modification and adhesion on the surface of wood-plastic composites were studied.And the decorative applicability on the two kinds of wood-plastic composites surface by water transfer printing technology was analyzed.The results showed that wood/polyethylene composites was more suitable for water transfer printing technology,and the wood texture decoration on the surface of transfer printing products was better.The surface tension after plasma was up to 50mN/m or more.The surface adhesion was at a level 0.The plasma was used for the modification on the surface of wood-plastic composites.The surface microstructure and surface chemical structure were surveyed using FTIR and SEM.The modification effect of different gas plasma treatment and the adhesion were studied by the parameters such as exposure time of plasma treatment,surface tension and adhesion.The results showed that polar groups such as hydroxyl and carbonyl were introduced on the surface of polyethylene composites base material after plasma treatment,and the surface tension was improved;the surface roughness increased with exposure time prolong,and the adhesion was improved;the modification effects were better after argon plasma treatment on the surface of wood/polyethylene composites.Using the transparent thermoplastic acrylic paint as the primer,the water transfer printing technology was used to decorate the surface of wood/polyethylene composites.The extension temperature,drying temperature and the finishing situation of primer and top coat on the surface of wood/polyethylene composites were studied.The results showed that the transfer printing effect was better when the extension temperature range was 34~42? and drying temperature range was 50~70?;using the transparent polyurethane as top coat,the surface adhesion of transfer printing products was at a level 0 with plasma treatment on the surface of base material and primer.The clear and beautiful wood texture were decorated on the surface of wood/polyethylene composites.The decoration and practicality were significantly improved.
