With the development and application of laser teacnology,the demand for laser protection has been increasing,so the research on optical limiting materials has attracted more and more attention.Au and Ag nanoparticles have attracted much attention due to their special surface plasmon resonance?SPR?.Anisotropic Au and Ag nanoparticles possess multiple SPR absorption bands which can be tunable by changing the morphology of the nanoparticles and the surrounding medium.Herein,to exploit the application potential of silver nanoparticles is important because bulk silver exhibits the highest electrical?or thermal?conductivity among all metals.Based on the research of silver nanoparticles in optical limiting materials,silver nanoparticles/silicone hybrid rubber materials are prepared and their optical limiting property is investigated.In this dissertation,silver nanoparticles with certain size and morphology were prepared by seed-mediated growth method,which are doped into hydrophobic silicone rubber materials,and their optical limiting properties are studied.The main work in the paper are outlined as follow:spherical Ag nanoparticles with different particle size were prepared,whose optical limiting property to nanosecond laser is investigated,the result shows that the silver nanoparticles exhibited good optical limiting property,and the size metal nanoparticles influence their optical limiting property.Silica coating was employed to obtain the Ag@SiO2core-shell structure materials,which could be homogeneously dispersed in ethanol.Then Ag@Si O2 was doped into PDMS rubbers to investigate their optical limiting property to laser at 532 nm,the nonlinear optical properties were investigated by open and close aperture Z-scan technique.The results showed that the Ag@SiO2doped PDMS rubber exhibited good optical limiting effect,and the optical limiting performance was attributed to the nonlinear optical absorption and refraction,and the optical limiting capability of the AgNPs doped materials is better than that of the Ag@SiO2 solution.Meanwhile,silver nanoprisms are prepared and coated by silica layer,which are then doped into silicone rubber to obtain hybrid rubber sheets,and their optical limiting behavior to festosecond laser was investigated.The silicone hybrid rubber sheets samples were found to exhibit better optical limiting property when the laser wavelength is close to SPR and the optical limiting property is mainly due to nonlinear optical absorption.This work is of great significant for development of optical limiting devices based on AgNPs against laser of different wavelength and frequency.
