Epoxy resin is a kind of thermosetting resins with excellent properties. It’s easily machined and shaped. It is widely used in the fields of automotive interiors, paintings, building and the other advanced composite materials, but the disadvantages such as poor toughness limit the expansion of epoxy resin in other fields. Therefore, the modification of epoxy resin has attracted wide attention. This article mainly completed the following aspects of the work:1.A series of ABS graft copolymers with different size and core/shell ratio controlled by 300nm were synthesized by seed emulsion polymerization, and used for epoxy resin modification. The effects of ABS content and core/shell ratio on mechanical properties, heat resistance and fracture morphology of composites were investigated. The results revealed that the introduction of ABS graft copolymer improved the properties of composites, and there was a suitable ABS content and core/shell ratio to make the material get the best performance.2.ACR is an important impact modifier.Firstly, the seed emulsion with particle size of 80nm was synthesized, and then the diameter of particle was further expanded. Finally,a series of ACR graft copolymers with different core/shell ratios were prepared by grafting methyl methacrylate(MMA)onto particle, which was used for epoxy resin modification. The results demonstrated that the properties of composites were significantly dependent on the structural characteristics of ACR..3.Through the surface modification of nano-SiO2,Cladding of inorganic SiO2particles by PMMA for epoxy resin modification was successfully achieved. The results represented that PMMA effectively enhanced the dispersion of nano-SiO2 particles in the matrix and significantly strengthened the interfacial bonding force, which improved the comprehensive properties of the composites.
