Bamboo is an important forest resource in our country, China is one of the countriesin which bamboo distributes the most widely, has the most resource and is used earliest.Compared with steel, cement, bricks and other traditional building materials, bamboohas a number of sources and short growth cycle; and good physical properties, highmaterial strength, good toughness. As green material, bamboo not only can improvethe environment in the growth process, but also has low energy consumption whenprocessing, and natural degradation after being discarded. Therefore, in order toimprove the use value of bamboo, replace the traditional structural materials to acertain extent, improve level of green building and achieve sustainable development ofconstruction industry, it is of great significance that bamboo resources are developedrationally, and the green organic material is used in structures as the main structuralmaterial to form a new structural system.1) This paper studies on the mechanical performance of bamboo through theexperiment, determining the tensile strength and compression strength parallel to grain,and researches different forms of failure mechanism and the influence of slub on itsmechanical performance. The results showed that bamboo has a high mechanicalstrength as natural green building material, while slub has a great influence on themechanical performance of bamboo.2) In this paper, the performance of working together of round bamboo and lightmaterials were studied through bond-slip test, the influence factors on the performanceof bond-slip were investigated and the performance of working together of roundbamboo and lightweight materials were evaluated. The results show that the depth ofthe buried round bamboo, round bamboo surface forms and diameter have a greatimpact on the bond strength.3) In this paper, the shear performance of the composite wall under low cyclic loading test is conducted, the failure mode and mechanism of working together ofcomposite wall are explored under cyclic load; The hysteresis curve is got, and thelateral performance of the structure is investigated by parameters such as the initialstiffness, carrying capacity, ductility, stiffness degradation of the composite wall; Theworking together of the bamboo and lightweight materials under load is observed; Theresults showed that the composite walls have high shear strength and initial lateralstiffness, good energy dissipation capacity and stable hysteretic behavior.Although the degradation of initial stiffness is serious, the degradation of late stiffnessis gentle with good ductility.This paper studies the mechanical properties of bamboo, the bond-slip propertiesof round bamboo and lightweight materials and lateral properties of the composite wall.This research carried out a preliminary exploration for the construction, lay thefoundation for the study of this kind of structure, and proposed new research directionsfor the study of bamboo structure.
