Application Research On Chaos And Fractal Images In Soft Art Decoration Design

Fractal is one of the most important nonlinear sciences rosing in twentieth Century in 70. Mandelbrot constructed the Mandelbrot set by the iteration of the mathematical formula and computer programming technology. Fractal theory, a new mathematical language, can be used to describe the geometric figure in the nature. Under the guidance of the fractal theory, diverse art patterns and animations generated by computer programming not only has the aesthetic value but also has the scientific connotation. With the rapid development of the computer science and technology in the new century, especially computer graphics become more powerful, it will promote the development of fractal theory to study all kinds of computer visualization. The computer scientists,the mathematicians,the textile and clothing designers, the plane advertisement designers, the architectural artists and the product designers in the many other areas has interested in patterns generated using chaos and fractal ideas. The application of the colorful fractal patterns in product appearance design naturally becomes a hot topic of public concern. With the improvement of people's material life level and spiritual life level continuously, the expression of aesthetic taste has gradually changed. People began to need the themselves perception and the individuality pursuit, which forces the designers must innovate constantly in the innovation of the product. Daily soft decoration is the necessities of life with the people's every day living.design of home soft decoration can improve people's living quality so daily soft decorative design innovation has become one of the main tasks of the designers. The fractal pattern is a complex and ever-changing art pattern, it can promote the product design workers to produce abundant inspiration, the daily soft decoration can also be injected new vigor by the creative design.In this paper, the theoretical research method, design analysis and experimental research are adopted to do the research work based on the theoretical results of the previous research on fractal and dailysoft decorative design. With decorative pattern as a clue, according to the aesthetic characteristics of chaotic and fractal images, the applications of the chaotic and fractal images in daily soft decoration design are explored. The main research results are as follows:(1) By brief explaination of the basic theory of chaos and fractal, from the angle of the typical fractals, the art patterns realized by computer simulation with the idea of the fractal theory are investigated and analysised.(2) The existing traditional daily soft decorative patterns are discussed; the unique rhythm and the aesthetic features in the chaos and fractal patterns are analysised; with the help of the self-similarity characteristics of the fractal, the decorative design patterns how to affect the effect of the product appearance design is explained.(3) The innovative lampshades, containing the twelve Chinese Zodiac with the hyperbolic symmetry, are designed by using the Adobe PS image processing software, SketchUpPro, 3 DM AX and other design software; the real samples are made of by hand.
