As an important transport tool, centrifugal pumps have been widely used in various departments in the national economy. They play an important role in promoting the rapid development of the national economy. However, due to the long lasting severe damages to the ecological environment by soil erosion, most pumps are operating in solid-liquid two-phase turbulent flow. Therefore, the abrasion of pumps is inevitable. The erosion damage of flow components in sandy water increases the workload of the pump maintenance, shortens the overhaul cycle, increases the number of spare parts, and reduces the operational reliability. The abrasion of centrifugal pumps in solid-liquid two-phase turbulent flow is inevitable. However, we can explore the flow and abrasion patterns in the flow passage in sandy river, search the modern design theory and methods of centrifugal pumps in solid-liquid two-phase turbulent flow, and decrease the erosion degree of various flow components. In this way, we can solve the large noise, low efficiency, short life, vibration, and other problems. The main works are as follows:1. On the basis of reading a large number of relevant references at home and abroad, the engineering application background of this research was described, the research status and the development of solid-liquid two-phase turbulent flow were analyzed, and the purpose, significance, main contents and methods of this dissertation were proposed.2. By using the 2D design drawings and various design parameters of the selected centrifugal pump, all flow components of this pump were modeled and saved by the 3D design software UG. The saved hexahedral structured grids of all passages were imported into ANSYS ICEM CFD until their quality can meet the accuracy requirements.3. The divided grids were spliced after being imported into the T-grid software, and then they were imported into FLUENT. The N-S equation was solved in closure by the widely used standard k-e turbulence model. The finite volume method was used to solve the equation discretely. The SIMPLE algorithm was used to correct the pressure. Finally, the centrifugal pump was numerically simulated when delivering clean water and sandy water. The pressure distribution on the surface of various flow components, and the streamline, velocity vector, and other parameters in the flow field were obtained through numerical calculation of the centrifugal pump when delivering clean water. The experimental data were compared with the numerical simulation results. The distribution of sediment concentration, the erosion area and erosion degree on the surface of various flow components were obtained through numerical simulation of the centrifugal pump when delivering sandy water.
