Handling stability, ride comfort and passing ability is an important indicator to evaluate the vehicle performance. Anti-Roll Bar can solve the contradiction between handling stability and ride comfort when vehicle is on road, but it also reduces the vehicle's passing ability on off-road. Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System can meet the demands of the vehicle handling stability, ride comfort and passing ability, it's applied to the engineering successful ly, but lack of the research about the system. In this paper, it's the first time to analyze the theory of KDSS, which provides a theoretical basis for the research and engineering application of KDSS.Based on a SUV(NJ2046SDD6) as a application platform, dynamic model of a vehicle fitted with Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System is established for simulation and analysis in theory, the main contents are as follows:1. The working principle of KDSS is analyzed firstly, through experiments and simulations stiffness and damping characteristics of actuator which is the main component in KDSS are researched. Modeled, comparison results of actuator performance characteristics is verified the correctness of the model created in AMESIM, the actuator parameters for the system are designed and the parameter sensitivity of system model such as rigid pipe diameter, length, accumulator volume and precharge pressure and the system working pressure are analyzed.2. Frequency domain dynamic model of vehicle fitted with kinetic dynamic suspension system is established, using the transfer matrix method to obtain impedance matrix,eigenvalue is obtained by numerical optimization iteration method. Compared modal frequency of vehicle fitted-KDSS with installed anti-roll bar vehicle model and did not install anti-roll bar vehicle model by simulation, the result is that KDSS increases the roll stiffness of the vehicle, an d the influence of the pitching stiffness and vertical stiffness is very small.3. Time-domain model equipped with Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System for a vehicle is established, using Runge-Kutta to solve the space matrix, and to get time-domain response of system, compared the model with AMESIM model and verified the correctness of the mathematical model ?4. Compared time-domain model of KDSS-fitted vehicle to installed anti-roll bar vehicle model and did not install anti-roll bar vehicle model by simulation, road test simulation contain: serpentine test, fishhook test, reversing pavement, random road and pulse road, comparing and analyzing the vehicle performance about handling, torsion eliminating and ride comfort of the vehicle fitted different three suspensions from the test. The results indicate that KDSS-fitted vehicle and vehicle mounted anti-roll bar have the same as the anti-roll effect, ensured the stability of the ve hicle, and it also is better handing performance compared with independent suspension without anti-roll bar vehicle,about ride comfort, KDSS-fitted vehicle is not changed much.
