With the living standards continuous improving, the requirements of living conditions have changed. Solving the basic life problem become seeking more comfort and ease conditions for living. Especially when people spend more time indoor, they come up with higher requirements. Indoor heating is the main method to resist the cold in the winter, quite a number of countries pay more attention to the energy source, which poses challenges to the traditional way of centralized heating, also bring opportunities to the new independent heating method.In this work, we proposed an innovative design for in-door electrical heating system that uses commercially available carbon fiber tape(CFT). The design of heating panel, the layout and construction of a prototype, experimental results were presented. The heating experiment, the temperature control simulation experiment and the carbon fiber tape(CFT) electrical heating system experiment in prefabricated example room were the three phase of the study.In the heating experiment, tests were conducted to examine the performance, temperature variation with time and location, and energy consumption of the proposed system. The experimental result showed that the heating system performed satisfactorily and heated up quickly with an average speed of 1.83 °C/min. The temperature gradient in the vertical direction is much larger than that in horizontal direction. The electrical resistance of the CFT is stable, and the reflective membrane and insulation board are effective to reduce the heat transfer towards the bo ttom.In the temperature control simulation experiment, The temperature control device can reduce the energy consumption significantly. Because of temperature controller added to the electrical heating system, the energy consumption reduced obviously. Due to temperature controller control, the system entered the cycle stages after a preheating time under different initial temperature. The influence on heating rate and each stage time by initial temperature is consistent.The full-scale experiment was carried to test performance of the carbon fiber electrical heating system in the whole room with long cycle stage. The optimization of carbon fiber tape(CFT) decoration turned out to be a relatively good result. The temperature gradient of the horizontal direction is small and the outdoor temperature is the bigger factor affect temperature control stage and energy consumption relative to the initial temperature.Carbon fiber tape(CFT) was compared with three common forms of heating in terms of economic applicability. Results showed that carbon fiber tape(CFT) electric heating system has a wide range of application and market prospects in combination with the housing industrialization prefabricated and green building development strongly advocated by the country.
