With the development of computer technology, finite element method(FEM) has found such widespread use in many fields. For civil engineering, FEM is generally used in dynamics and static analysis of the structure. A high accuracy finite element model plays an important role to the accuracy of structure analysis.Ho wever, the deviation of test calculation between finite element model calculation and actual structure is inevitable. What’ s more,with the development of the construction industry, forms of structure are becoming more and more complicated, which means the idea of building a perfectly finite element model with experience become more and more unpractical. Therefore, the necessity of study on model updating technology is increasingly prominent.Taking a coastal high-rise building as an example, this article conduct a study on finite element model updating based on field measurement. The article mainly includes the following contents.Firstly, the study of the sensor layout is conducted, which is an important content of the model updating. The sensor layout plays a significant role in the validity of the data in actual testing and the correlation between the test result and model updating. In this article, effective independence algorithm and the genetic algorithm are adopted as a hybrid algorithm to arrange the optimization of locations of sensor. First, the effective independent method is adopted to narrow down the search scope by select ing the alternative locations. Then, improved the adaptive genetic algorithm and used similarity of mode shapes as a fitness function to do the further selection.Secondly, modal test of the high-rise structure is conducted, and the modal parameter of the building is gotten by the dynamic testing, which is used as the foundation of the model updating. The uniform design method is used to reduce the calculation times during the process of parameters modification. The result shows that accurate finite element model can be gotten in few computing times by the calculation methods.Finally, compared the field test results of wind-induced responses with calculation result by updated finite elememt model, the comparison result further not only verifies the accuracy of finite element model and the correctness of this algorithm, but also shows that the finite element model can be used for wind resistant research of the structure.
