With the global energy problem becoming increasingly apparent and the relevant policies of wall reform, energy conservation were promoted vigorously in china, development of a new wall materials which is a collection of waste utilization, thermal insulation, safety has become a major direction in construction field. Several traditional wall insulation engineering practices have deficiencies, even exterior wall insulation which occupying mainstream market of building energy consumption still exists easy cracking, loss, poor fireproof performance and other shortcomings.As garbage made by people after consuming glass products in daily life, waste glass is difficult to deal with and wasting of resources. Research of using crushed waste glass directly as coarse and fine aggregate in concrete and mortar is relatively abundant at home and abroad, but most of them aimed at achieving work performance and mechanical strength index of concrete and mortar for purpose, it has not been involved in study of using artificial porous material generated by waste glass crushed, burned, foamed, and other production processes——recycled waste glass pumice as lightweight aggregate to make pumice concrete. In this background, conducting performance study and theoretical analysis of the new glass pumice concrete materials is significant.In view of these reasons, experimental work of raw material physical performance, mix proportion design, thermal insulation and basic mechanical properties of pumice glass concrete was carried out in this paper, and thermal performance simulation analysis of residential building using glass pumice concrete as exterior wall was also done. This paper mainly completed following works:(1) Physical performance expeiments of glass pumice aggregate were conducted, the results show that the physical properties of glass pumice can meet requirements of "Lightweight aggregates and its test methods" GBT17431-2010, which reflect glass pumice can be used as concrete lightweight aggregate.(2) According to orthogonal design principle, thermal conductivity and compressive strength of glass pumice concrete with sixteen different mix proportions were determined, and the test results were analyzed by range method and variance method, it can be drawn the influence raw and degree that relevant factors on the thermal insulation propeties and comprehensive strength of glass pumice concrete. As cement content increases, the compressive strength of glass pumice concrete has improved, but its insulation performance has become worse; As the total volume of pumice aggregate increases, the insulation property of glass pumice concrete has improved, but its compressive strength has decreased; The change of pumice coarse aggregate size grade has little significant impact on the compressive strength and thermal conductivity of glass pumice concrete. Influence degree of various factors on the glass pumice concrete compressive strength as follows: cement content is maximum, followed by the total volume of pumice aggregate, pumice coarse aggregate size grade is minimized; Influence degree of various factors on the glass pumice concrete thermal conductivity as follows: the total volume of pumice aggregate is largest, followed by cement content, pumice coarse aggregate size grade is minimal.(3) Cited a residential building in Wuhan as research object, energy consumption calculation models were established by thermal analysis software DeST-h. When external envelope wall material respectively used by glass pumice concrete, aerated concrete and ordinary concrete, building energy consumption situations of room, system and the whole building which are in heating season, air-conditioning season and throughout the year has been analyed. The results show that energy consumption of glass pumice concrete facades building is similar to aerated concrete wall envelop building, which reflects two insulation systems have considerably insulation effect. Compared to ordinary concrete wall envelop building, glass pumice concrete facades building can significantly reduce the energy consumption, especially in the heating energy consumption, the building energy saving rates all beyond 60%, which reflects glass pumice concrete wall system has an excellent insulation property.
