Research Of Zhaohua Historic City On Perspective Of Military Defense

Zhaohua historic city lies in the north edge of mountainous Sichuan basin in the line of Jinniu route. Bailong River and Jialing River join together here and flows towards the south.For its location and surrounding condition,all the emperors from Pre-Qin Period to modern times regard it as a very important military city which guard the Old-Sichuan area.As modern business blossom its walls and defense buildings ruined largely.Fortunately,its environment and historic city style remains well.It is highly valuable in the research of ancient Chinese military city in relation to space pattern, city evolution and military culture.In this thesis I try to study Zhaohua historic city in a comprehensive way.It means some methods in historiography,geography and sociology,etc.Reading hard a series of books and documents is necessary before my writing.In addition,I get a lot of information from my on-the-spot investigation.Firstly,according to organize the city's development course in ancient wartime,I summarize features in its development.Combining military service,the division of administrative regions with military culture I analysis the formation of its defensive characteristics.Then,I summarize Zhaohua historic city's defense function and significance after analyzing features of its defense system and Jialing River water transport route. Moreover,considering its location and plane,I research the defense system,beginning with its city defense strategy.After that,I summarize the important space and building in the town defense system.It transform some abstract military strategies to substantial condition.At last,I analyze the development of business district in Zhaohua historic city and summarize some characteristics in its form and technology in current situation.Moreover,I discover the relation between its business and military aspect in peace times.
