With the rapid growth of the world economy, the port as a transportation hub for trade, is playing an increasingly important role. Port handling machinery is the main port operators, which bear the main loading and unloading operations. The port ship unloader is a kind of the large machinery equipment for port loading and unloading. Once an accident happens, it may lead to equipment damage and bring the enterprise economic losses, or worse, it may result in the machine scrapped and casualities. Therefore, it is of great significance to scientifically and accurately evaluate the port ship unloader's life. It can help to ensure the operation safety.The physical wear accumulation of the ship unloader device will lead to the failure rate of the device increasing. It will also reduce the level of reliabiligy and economic performance and the strength of metal structures. Finally, the ship unloader device will be scrapped because of unsafe and uneconomical.In order to study the lifetime of the port ship unloader, the reliability life, economic life and safety life were analyzed respectively. The reliability life is the basis, the economic life is the guide and the safety life is the absolutely controlled target. Then, combine these three lifes and make a prediction, the final result is namely the lifetime of the port ship unloader. The main research work is as follows:(1) During the process of analyzing the reliability life of the ship unloader, a performance degradation model is established to predict the reliability life. At the same time, the reliability evaluation system of the ship unloader is also established. Finally, the reliability state evaluation of the ship unloader is completed.(2) During the process of analyzing the economic life of the ship unloader, the economic evaluation indicators are established, as well as the calculation model of the economic life. And the economic life of the device is ultimately obtained.(3) During the process of analyzing the safety life of the ship unloader, the fatigue life of the ship unloader is regarded as the safety life. The finite element software ANSYS is used to do the static analysis. On this basis, the fatigue analysis of the ship unloader is completed with ANSYS/FATIGUE. And the safety life value is obtained.(4) Before the lifetime analyzing of the ship unloader, the reliability life, economic life and safety life of the device should be calculated firstly. Based on this, the lifetime of the ship unloader can be got according to the lifetime determining principles. The lifetime value can be used as the theoretical guidance of the ship unloader being scrapped.
