| This dissertation is focused on solving the problems which the largest vulnerable groups of society are facing. This group is what we called “The group of silver hair”, means the seniors. In this special group, this thesis places more emphasis on seniors who suffer from various age-related diseases, such as … please give example. Nowadays, the social rhythm, the employment pressure and living cost keep increasing. Although the fast-paced society, in obeying the tradition of filial piety, the young adult generation, especially the generation of “only child”, has the obligation of taking care of four old people. At the same time, they also need to take their own children and their work into account. In order to effectively and precisely realize a balance among these obligations, a systematic design methodology is desired to balance the relationship between the young adults and their parents. The methodology should be developed by analyzing the human social system from a macro perspective. The “Seniors-oriented smart-wristband” is one of the specific product forms of implementing such methodology. The smart wristband acts as a role of “Life Bridge” in the healthcare system of seniors.The thesis is based on the concept of “Problem awareness” which is highlighted in the study of design. The design thinking in this dissertation follows the method of problem discovering, problem analyzing and problem solving. Through the market research, the pros and cons of existing healthcare products for seniors are identified. By analyzing the rational characteristics, physical characteristics and psychological characteristics of seniors, the theoretical foundation is established. In this thesis, based on design analysis, the ideation on specific forms of product is performed. The model is developed and prototype is tested on target users.Through the multidisciplinary analysis, the design of existing products of smart wristband is refined and compacted. The overarching goal of this thesis is to achieve a smart wristband device which realizes a three-party connection among seniors, young adults and family doctors with the cloud communicating technology. The key features of such product are in three aspects: 1) intelligent warning when old people are falling ill; 2) smart planning for young adults to take of seniors such that the load of life could be reduced; 3) real-time collection of data about health status of seniors such that diagnosis can be effectively improved. The features in these three aspects help construct an applied healthcare platform for caring future life of seniors. |
