With the development of science?technology and the improvement of people's living standard, the demand for electricity is increasing every year. Contemporary grid facing more and more problems, the existing system in national grid is limited to the management of higher voltage levels transmission and distribution lines, input costs of the hardware facilities and ongoing maintenance costs are relatively high, does not apply to small cities and towns the grid management. How to strengthen grid scheduling management in small and medium cities and towns, protect the safe operation of the power grid, as well as improve economic benefit of power supply enterprises is the important direction of our research.GIS is an indispensable technology in "digital grid, information technology companies ". This Paper select some towns of Nanyang City, Henan Province as the study area, invest the current status of development in electric power resources, combined with GIS technology to make need analysis for data collection, data management, data and other statistical summary in electricity business, construct management and analysis system in power lines. The main work is as follows:(1)Take analysis for distribution network status and actual needs, deter-mine the entity relationship model based on GIS, choose the suitable key technologies for distribution network.(2) Establish the design objectives and principles in the digital network line management system, collect GPS poles, transformers and other data, vector the line information of each tower to the digital map, process the towers and lines data to form basic statistics of digital grid, establish the spatial database of digital grid through spatial geographic data topology.(3) Aim for the loss in the transmission process, explore the principles of line loss analysis, propose the program suitable for line loss analysis process, provide evidence for the system to calculate the actual transmission losses.(4) Take use of MapInfo's MapX component, combined with the Oracle database, make the establishment of a GIS-based digital grid line management system. It implement the standard and visual management of the grid, could share resources, service for the safe and economic operation.Through these studies, this paper provides a data interface Compatible with the existing system in Electric Power Bureau, displays the existing data in graphics types, avoids duplication of investment, reduces labor intensity, provides information support for grid security and optimization of production scheduling, plays an important role in production and management of electricity, protects the stable development of electricity industry.
