In recent years, conventional energy consumption is drawing increasing attention for people due to the conscience of energy crist. According to existing data, construction energy consumption has been a major part of this, especially in summer in China, cooling consumption has laid great pressure during the peak season. Solar absorption cooling system can meet greatest cooling demand as well as the best time for decreasing solar heat to generate cooling instead, comes to be a proper method for the problem.In this paper, studying on various solar cooling methods had been done, theoretical and working properties being studied, followed by main refrigerant analysis. On establishing the fundamental principal, solar absorption cooling system design had been performed according to cooling demand. In this design, system is focused to meet the cooling demand for a single room during the period of greater solar heat in summer. With the help of EES, thermal design is also applied to the solar collector and after analysis and studies on solar collector and efficiency of the system had been made on the combination of system properties.Moreover, studies have been made on characteristic of cooling part and solar part. Real data had been applied to the designed system to forecast the energy consumption. Ambient temperature had significant effect on efficiency but can be improved by extra heat exchanger.Finally, from the imitation results, solar collector shows a decent efficiency within the cooling load demand, and system has promising ability to meet the cooling demand during the high temperature period from benefit of solar energy.
