Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center(WHMFC) is the only one high magnetic field laboratory with the battery bank power supply system for long-pulse magnetic field in the world. Using this battery power supply system, long-pulse magnetic field of 35.8T/2s and flat-top magnetic field of 25T/200ms/250 ppm has been successfully achieved. The batteries in this system are mainly used to generate high pulsed current under a special applying condition. For the purpose of battery monitoring and testing, a battery test system has been designed and developed, which can perform battery charging and discharging test as while as high pulsed current test and acquire voltage and internal resistance of the battery during the high current output. According to different testing purpose, the test procedure can be easily changed and the test system can be performed automatically.The design and development of the test system has been completed, Hardware system design has been completed, including the main circuit system, data acquisition and control system. The selection and implementation of the main components in the main circuit system, as while as the acquisition card, current sensor and control system have been completed. A voltage sensor with the linearity less than 0.2% has also been developed. Software system design has been completed. The software requirements of the test system and the structure of the software have been designed. A test program based on LabVIEW has been developed, which can achieve the long time continuous acquisition under high sampling rate using the producers and consumers cycle, and can perform automatically by means of logic control program.The test of the battery has been performed using the test system, including battery charging and discharging and high pulsed current primary test. The result of the tests shows the developed test system is reliable and can meet the demands of monitoring the battery power supply system. The relationship of OCV vs SOC and a dynamic model for the discharging period of the battery have been acquired, which provide theoretical support for the application and maintenance of battery bank power supply system.
