The exploitation of marine resources has extended to the deep sea areas. FPSO system plays an important role in the exploitation. But the marine risers of deep-sea FPSO system are so long that their weight is large and the vortex-induced vibration is strong under the ocean current, which affects the stability, strength and fatigue of the FPSO hull. Thus, the deep-sea FPSO system need several buoy in the water, which are used to supporting the marine risers, in order to reduce the load on FPSO hull. With the further exploitation of the deep-sea resources, the traditional buoy cannot meet the needs of the exploitation. It is imminent to seek the new buoy, riser-support platform, which is large-scale, deep-sea, long life cycle. It is difficult and critical to design a sassing and safety installation method for the riser-support platform. This article just focuses on this object.Firstly, this study put forward a design scheme about pressure floating riser-support platform, in consideration of the difficult of the installation method. Based on this scheme, the buoy designed by BSR is redesigned. Then the redesigned scheme is verified from three aspects, which are strength, posture control and ultimate bearing capacity of suction.Then this article discusses the installation method of the large-scale underwater floating platform. According to study the development of the exiting installation method, this article put forward a new installation method based on Hydrodynamic performance calculation, which is called two-stage installation without traction. Then we analyze the innovation and advantage of the new method.At last, this article put forward another new concept, pressure-balance riser-support platform. This new concept uses the underwater pressure-control system. Then this article gives the detail about the new design and analyzes its innovation and advantage. According to the theory, the design steps are presented briefly at end of the article.
