The research on rotating mechanical movement is based on the Rotor Dynamics Theory.And rotating machinery such as turbines, steam turbines and aviation engines are indispensable core equipment for the related industries.However, most of the current research on rotor dynamics is based on linear conditions,which has been unable to meet the modern engineering requirement.So the research on nonlinear rotor dynamics has great significance.The research on the nonlinear rotor dynamics includes both the theoretical research and the simulation research.Due to the complexity characteristic of the rotor dynamics, the nonlinear theory research is in a slow progress.However,with advanced modern computer technology, it has become more and more efficient to use the simulation method for research on the nonlinear rotor, and gradually, the simulation method has become a main research method.Based on the nonlinear rotor dynamics principles and the finite element method theoretical basis,this paper has used finite element simulation methods to make a research on nonlinear rotor dynamics problems.After introducing the nonlinear rotor dynamics research methods and the vortex motion theory,this paper analyses the factors in rotor system which may disturb the rotor movements, and gives a reasonable mathematical model of these conditions.This paper respectively makes simulation analysis for two nonlinear rotor systems with the ANSYS 14.0 software. One is the eccentric rotor system, behavior with the simulation method under the flexible support, and it proves the non-linear effect of the eccentric rotor system. The other is the unbalance excitation effect rotor system, its simulation analysis has demonstrated the dynamic characteristics under external excitation of nonlinear rotor by the harmonic response analysis and verifying the results of modal analysis.Through the FEM operation example and the simulation results accord with the real situation,the whole paper demonstrates the feasibility and reliability of thismethod,Not only providing instance analysis for the finite element simulation method research on nonlinear rotor dynamics, but also laid the basis for the relevant expanded research in the future.
